Marshalling The Cause of Mangroves

Ganesh Shinde

Mangrove Marshalls

49-year-old Ganesh Shinde has been an active volunteer with Rohitt’s Mangrove Marshalls movement for a while now.

Living next to the Vashi Creek, Ganesh is no stranger to the sad state of the mangroves that have been encroached with all sorts of waste. Cleaning the mangroves with Rohitt and the team re-fuelled his passion to help make the community a cleaner place to live in and he hasn’t looked back since.

Ganesh also helps out the needy in his community by serving them hot meals whenever he gets the chance. Ganesh’s message for others is to not solely rely on the government. He believes it is every citizen’s responsibility to keep their surroundings clean and urges others to take up their respective community’s cleanliness drives as well.

We at Giving Circle are inspired and proud by Ganesh’s passion for cleaning the mangroves and wish him all the best! For those of you who are looking to be a part of social change, initiatives can reach out to us via our DM or email us on [email protected]
